A message from FLY’s Executive Director:
Like many educational organizations and institutions, FLY experienced substantial change during the COVID pandemic. From the start of the pandemic in March 2020, FLY’s online student audience grew from 1,300 students to almost 3,000 from across the United States.
As schools reopened, and as students had more opportunities to learn in-person, FLY’s online program decreased 90% within a 6-month period. At the end of June 2022, FLY’s leadership team decided to temporarily pause FLY’s online program until further notice and refund any families who had pre-registered for Fall 2022 classes.
During the 2022-2023 school year, FLY: 1) continued its full-day in-person program within private schools; and 2) took some time to re-evaluate and re-design its organizational strategy.
FLY has 27 years of experience teaching in-person classes, and 2 years of experience teaching online. Its future plans will incorporate its nationwide student and teacher base, and leverage lessons learned from both its in-person and online programs.
For the 2023-2024 school year, FLY will continue to teach in-person with private school partners, and expand on partnerships that allow language classes school-wide during the school day. FLY is considering an option for before and after school programs at this time. We truly appreciate the wonderful feedback on the FLY program, and the many “thank yous” from parents for the educational benefits your students have enjoyed while learning online with FLY.
